Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopic Procedures:

Fluoroscopy is an advanced imaging technique that provides real-time X-ray visualization of the inside of the body to observe the flow of contrast dye in the spine and surrounding joints. These real-time images are displayed on a monitor, making it possible for healthcare professionals to make more informed decisions and perform procedures with enhanced precision.

Common Fluoroscopic Procedures:

Fluoroscopy is utilized in a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures:

Spinal Procedures: Fluoroscopy is commonly used to guide injections for pain management, such as epidural steroid injections or facet joint injections, and is also used during spinal biopsies or when placing spinal implants.

At Comprehensive Medical Care, we utilize the most advanced C-arm/ fluoroscopy for Real-Time Imaging, Enhanced Precision, Improved Diagnosis for our minimally invasive procedures to help our patients be pain free.

What to Expect During a Fluoroscopic Procedure

Before the procedure, you may be asked to change into a hospital gown and position yourself on an examination table. Depending on the type of procedure, a local anesthesia is injected into the spinal area under sterile guidelines, then a contrast dye may be introduced into your body to visualize the area of interest and inject under the fluoroscopy guidance. Mild pain and swelling to be expected after the quick procedure.
